HYANNIS- At approximately 4:30am Barnstable Police, along with State Troopers converged on the area of Building 11 at Cromwell Courts on Barnstable Road for a report of a group involved in an altercation where two guns were shown.
When officers arrived several youths took off running- a foot chase ensued- and at least one individual managed to jump a fence and escape.
Police quickly organized and set up a parameter. A police tracking K-9 arrived soon after.
One pellet gun was discovered at the scene… but a sergeant cautioned all officers that the one fleeing could possibly be carrying a firearm.

In a seemingly separate incident…just over a half hour earlier a man phoned police from the Cumberland Farms on West Main Street stating that someone had just pulled a gun on him. The suspect in that incident reportedly fled the scene driving a brown Avalon.
