Yarmouth Police Participate in 2007 Law Enforcement Torch Run

 On Friday, June 15, 2007 at approximately 12:00 PM—members of the Yarmouth Police Department will take part in the 2007 Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run. The Law Enforcement Torch Run is part of a worldwide program to benefit the athletes of the Special Olympics. 

The Torch Run is not a race; it is a series of torch relays in which Law Enforcement officials will carry the Special Olympics Flame of Hope to opening ceremonies of Special Olympics Massachusetts Summer Games. Yarmouth Police Officers—sponsored by the Yarmouth Police Relief Association—will receive the Special Olympics torch from the Dennis Police and pass it to the Barnstable Police after completing the 4 mile run along Route 6A in Yarmouthport.
