Police Nab B&E Suspect in the Act!

HYANNIS- Barnstable Police are out in the dark walking various neighborhoods in an effort to cut down late night crime.

Last Night, or early this morning, just before 2:00am Officers Dan Ruth and Colin Kelley were on foot patrol in the area of Spring Street when they noticed a man trying to break into a parked vehicle near the dark intersection at Brookshire Road.  Officer Ruth and Kelley were able to surprise the suspect and take him into custody.

Hyannis News was on scene moments after the arrest and according to Sergeant Mike Clark the man will be charged with Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle, as well as Possession of Burglary Tools.

UPDATE: According to Sergeant Sweeney the man was also charged with Larceny of Property.
