At about 1:10 PM on Wednesday afternoon, Dennis Fire Rescue, Dennis Police, and the Dennis Harbormaster Department responded to a report of a boat sinking about 500 feet off of Glendon Beach in Dennis Port. Glendon Beach is off Old Wharf Road. Initial reports received said that there were 3 people in the water.

The Dennis Harbormaster reportedly picked up the victims and was asked by Fire Rescue to bring them into Freeman’s Landing in Bass River to meet Fire Rescue as sea conditions at the beach were not conducive for a beach landing. But a later report said that the persons on the stricken boat did not wish to be resuced as their boat was secured and the Harbormaster was going escort them back to the harbor.
