Vehicle Stop Becomes Drug Arrest

SOUTH DENNIS - At approximately 8:30pm on Wednesday July 11, 2007 Patrolman John Brady observed a 1995 Toyota Corolla traveling east on Mayfair Rd. at an excessive speed. Ptlmn. Brady subsequently stopped the vehicle and identified the operator as James W. Williams 17 years of age of Mayfair Rd. South Dennis. Further investigation revealed that Mr. Williams was operating the vehicle without being licensed and he was placed under arrest. Following his arrest the officer discovered a small amount of marijuana and four grams of cocaine on Mr. Williams’ person. Mr. Williams was additionally charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Cocaine with intent to Distribute.   Mr. Williams was released to state custody for a violation of the terms of his probation on a previous matter. Mr. Williams is scheduled to appear in Orleans District court to answer to the above charges.  The drugs seized are estimated to be worth $500 on the street.
