HYANNIS - Ten O'Clock was the wrong time, and the Citizen's Bank at the Airport Rotary was the wrong place for the hapless holdup man who held up a customer trying to make a night deposit at the bank on Wednesday evening.

The armed robbery suspect was reportedly in the process of robbing a customer when Barnstable Patrol Officer Ed Cronin happened by. He apprehended the suspect in the vicinity of the Cumberland Farms store on Barnstable Road.

The apprehended person was transported to the Barnstable Police Facility. A witness was also brought to the station to make a statement. No further information is yet available by HyannisNews will follow up on this developing story.

  • Good police work, my hats off to the Barnstable PD! My girlfriend and I lived in Hyannis about 2 years back, and I used to accompany her to that same night deposit every week knowing that these thugs often lurk in this area. Reading this article was very chilling for me as you can imagine. I'm just glad this punk is out of business. Again, great job Barnstable PD =)
