Office of the Chief Medical Examiner investigating body found in abandoned house…

HYANNIS –
At about 5:00PM yesterday afternoon, Barnstable Police were called to an abandoned house at 111 Sea Street where they entered and discovered a dead body.

Officials were on scene investigating until about 9:30PM, when the deceased was removed from the abandoned house and placed into the medical examiner’s van.

HN began receiving tips last evening that there were numerous police vehicles on scene… and one witness may have observed police initially entering with guns drawn (which could have been due to it being an abandoned property – but that hasn’t been confirmed).

It’s too early to tell whether or not police suspect foul play.

But HN has confirmed that the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has taken the case.

Barnstable and state police are investigating, and HN will provide updates as they become available.

Condolences to this person who passed away. I’m sure some negative attacks will come & speculation that this person died of an overdose. Even if that’s the case I hope respect is given.RIP…..

So sad to die alone, in an uninhabited house, just there…. waiting to be discovered.
