HN VIDEO: Partially clothed man allegedly frightened woman with knife… [DEVELOPING]
HYANNIS – As you will see in the following HN Video, Barnstable Police Officers were monitoring the bar crowds at around closing time when some officers suddenly needed to hop in their cruisers and head towards the Cromwell Court Apartments.
There was some confusion at first because the call came in that there was a man wearing no clothes with a knife wandering around the buildings, according to sources…
Officers caught up to and took a partially clothed man into custody. He didn’t have a knife when cops got him, but he was carrying a Bible, according to sources. It was raining and the man was shirtless, out walking around with a Bible at 1:00 AM…
… officers began investigating further.
Officers located and photographed several items in the area, but have not yet commented on any evidence as the investigation was ongoing at the time of this report.
The reporting party, an adult female resident of the apartments, told officers on scene she had called police because she became alarmed and frightened by a man who she saw and believed somehow revealed he was armed with a knife… the reporting party became concerned for others living at the apartments, including children.
Police also became very concerned about a separate female, a possible “victim,” who could not be located at the apartments or elsewhere. Taxi cab drivers were contacted about whether they possibly gave her a ride from the apartment complex… and a police “BOLO” (Be On The Lookout) was issued concerning a woman who may be a girlfriend or acquaintance of the suspect.
According to police, they are still investigating and still are not sure whether they are also dealing with some type of “domestic.”
As you will see in the HN Video, the suspect was arrested and transported back to BPD Headquarters.
According to radio chatter, the suspect may be facing Disorderly and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, to wit knife, charges.
