In the following emergency audio from early this morning at about 2:00AM; you will hear a young Barnstable Police Patrolman, in car E-231, being dispatched to some type of a disturbance involving a female screaming on Danvers Way.

Then moments later you will hear the same patrolman, obviously upset after just striking a pedestrian with his cruiser, calling for E-211, which is the supervisor’s car…

The following is the actual media statement from the Massachusetts State Police:

State Police Assisting With Fatal Pedestrian Crash In Barnstable

The Massachusetts State Police early this morning deployed troopers from our Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section to assist in investigating a fatal pedestrian crash in Barnstable. The vehicle involved in a crash was a Barnstable Police cruiser.

The crash occurred at approximately 2 a.m. in the area of 1358 Falmouth Rd. (Route 28).

Please note that State Police are not the primary investigating agency, but rather, are assisting local police.

No further information is available at this time.
