Yarmouth Police Arrest Man for Sexual Assaults

On Friday, August 17, 2007 at 8:30 PM—the Yarmouth Police Department arrested a 19-year-old man for sexually assaulting two teenagers at a party at 6 Parkwood Road in South Yarmouth.

  

A Dennis Police Department Detective who had been contacted by the family member of a survivor notified the Yarmouth Police Department of the incidents late Thursday evening.

  

Yarmouth Police Detective Russell Giammarco immediately launched an investigation, which determined that several youths had attended a gathering at the residence of the suspect on Wednesday evening.  The gathering involved underage youths consuming alcohol and marijuana. 

  

Detective Giammarco interviewed both survivors and several witnesses and was able to locate and arrest the suspect at his residence on Friday evening. While in the process of locating the suspect at his summer residence—Yarmouth Police Officers encountered a group of twelve underage youths engaged in the consumption of alcohol.  All twelve were transported to Yarmouth Police Headquarters.  All were eventually released to their parents.  A 30-pack of beer was confiscated and one youth was arrested for possession of marijuana.   

  

The sexual assault suspect was transported to Yarmouth Police Headquarters and held in custody on $10,000 cash bail. He was arraigned in the Barnstable District Court on Monday, August 20, 2007.
