Hit, Run, and Return

HYANNIS-  At approximately 5:15pm a teenage boy was struck by a tan SUV while riding his bike along West Main Street in the area of New England Pizza.  The operator of the SUV then apparently left the scene… only to return a short time later to speak with police.

The boy was treated inside of a Hyannis Rescue ambulance for a minor injury to his ankle.  He was released at the scene.

The man driving the SUV was questioned by Barnstable Police Officer Scott Kynoch.  Officer Kynoch issued a citation and the man will also be summoned into court on a criminal motor vehicle violation.

The boy’s bicycle was also damaged.
