911 caller was being jabbed with a fork

HYANNIS- Multiple Barnstable cruisers sped through slushy downtown streets to stop a stabbing in progress  -  a local woman is facing felony charges after a violent domestic attack. 

At approximately 9:40pm, the male victim stayed on the line and told police that he was being attacked.  His attacker, a domestic partner, was armed with a kitchen knife and fork.  He also was able to tell police that his attacker had already drew blood.

Seconds later, multiple Barnstable Police patrol units arrived at The Embassy Lodging and Shelters, a multi-apartment complex at 98 High School Road.

Officers didn’t even have time to close their cruiser doors as they rushed to find and save the victim.  After several radio transmissions, officers were directed to a small upstairs apartment located to the rear of the main building, putting an end to a very volatile situation.

Fortunately the male victim (HyNews is withholding the name for his protection) only received superficial wounds that miraculously did not call for a response from Hyannis Rescue. 

Hyannis News was on scene as Officer Patrick Fallon placed a handcuffed black female, approximately in her late 30s to early 40s, in the back seat of a patrol unit.  The woman was agitated and very vocal, visibly upset.  She was transported back to the Barnstable Police Facility where she was to be booked for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault and Battery Domestic Violence, and Protective Custody, alcohol is believed to be a significant factor in the evening’s violence.

Road Supervisor Sergeant Stephen McGuire requested a Barnstable Police Identification Officer to the scene to photograph the victim’s injuries. 

Police did their job; they responded quickly and accurately despite adverse conditions; it's very likely they saved a life tonight.
