CENTERVILLE- At approximately 12:00am, Thursday February 22, 2007 an off duty Yarmouth Police Officer reported a one car accident on Craigville Beach Road, just South of the lights at South Main Street.  The Yarmouth Officer also reported suspecting the incident to be alcohol related.

Three Barnstable Police Units responded and confirmed that there were no injuries.

Officers then conducted field sobriety tests.  On conclusion of the investigation a male was handcuffed and placed in one of the cruisers.  He was charged with O.U.I. and Operating to Endanger according to police radio transmissions.

The vehicle was apparently traveling westward on Craigville Beach Road when it may have struck several cement guard post.  A police photographer photographed the damaged posts.

The posts possibly prevented the S.U.V. from crashing down a steep embankment.

Police photos were also taken of the vehicle, especially the right front quarter panel.
