HYANNIS- At 10:26pm in the Citgo/Christy’s parking lot at Route 28 and Bearses Way a Barnstable Patrolman was attempting to stop this dark colored Toyota Camery when at least two suspects bailed from the vehicle and fled on foot towards the neighborhood of Fresh Holes and Hiramar Road.
An area search ensued as many Barnstable and State Police units converged on the area to investigate. At least two of the responding cruisers were K-9 units.
A brief description of the suspects was given out to all Officers. Later in the search police reportedly had a lead as to the identity of at least one of the suspects.
At least one suspicious bag was reportedly dumped by one of the suspects as he ran from police.
Not long into the investigation, police were led to a home on Fresh Holes Road where they met a woman who claimed her vehicle had just been stolen. Her vehicle is possibly the one pictured in this story. One Police Officer then transported two women back to the Barnstable Police Facility to fill out a report of a stolen motor vehicle.
The Camery was towed back to the police station where it will be processed for additional evidence.
(Note: at approximately 11:45pm, Barnstable Police could not give too many details as information and evidence was still being processed)
