Rush Hour Airbag Deployment Collision

CENTERVILLE- First Responders did an excellent job in cleaning-up and returning traffic to normal after a rush hour collision today.

At 5:15pm a Barnstable Police Officer radioed for a marked unit to respond to Route 28 and Strawberry Hill Road for an accident with airbag deployment.

Temperatures were hovering around 20 degrees, but felt much cooler due to a brisk wind, as rescue workers treated the injured on scene, transporting one to Cape Cod Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Firefighters were on hand to make the scene safe by cleaning up fluid leakage and preparing the vehicle for safe removal.

Travel was backed up and briefly reduced to one lane; but due routine hustle, things were quickly back to the normal busy two-way flow of traffic.  From start to finish the entire scene was turned around in about half an hour.
