Saint Patrick's Day - Looks Like Summer - 118 Photos posted in Gallery

There was so much traffic clogging Route 28 in Yarmouth this afternoon, it actually looked like summer had arrived. But, it wasn't summer at all, just an abundant turnout of local residents and tourists to take in the 2nd Annual Saint Patrick's Day Parade. And a very green day it was too!

It seems a lot of things are coming early this year!

The Cape Cod Saint Patrick's day parade was held a week before the real St. Patrick's Day. Daylight Saving Time comes tonight - 3 weeks earlier than last year. Now, if we can only get summer to start 6 weeks early we will be in really good shape! Temperatures in the area are expected to flirt with the 70's by mid-week, but the shivering memory of the 5 degree record cold temperatures only days ago, makes the prospect of an early summer seem iffy at best. But, as we on Cape Cod know - anything can happen here and we can hope can't we? Can't we please?

The Barnstable AOH Division 1 along with the Cape Cod St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee worked very hard to make this year's parade a great family event and it certainly was. Boston Bruins legend Bobby Orr was the Parade Grand Marshall (see his photo in the HyannisNews Gallery) and parade participants came from all over the state and beyond to help celebrate.

Today's parade kicked off at 11:00 a.m. from the Bass River Sports World and terminated 3 miles later at the Irish Village in West Yarmouth.

HyannisNews was there and we have posted nearly 120 pictures of the parade in the "Events" section of the HyannisNews Photo Gallery.

Simply click on the link in the Gallery Link in our menu on the left or just go to http://hyannisnews.com/coppermine/thumbnails.php?album=6 to view the pictures. Maybe you are in some of them if you were there or if you weren't you can see who was and lots of parade pictures.

If you have photos of your own that you would like to share with our visitors, register in the gallery and once you are approved you can post your own pictures in the gallery.

All photos posted are subject to review by our administrators and we reserve the right to accept or deny any photos submitted. Check out the Gallery - it is growing fast and become a part of it!
