On Monday, April 9, 2007 at 6:43 PM—Yarmouth Police Patrol Investigator David S. Dickey and Patrol Officer Louis Nickinello, Jr. responded to a report of a suspicious person at the Mid Cape Racquet and Health Club on Whites Path in South Yarmouth.

Upon arrival health club staff informed them that they had spotted a suspicious man inside the club.  The man matched the description of the person who had stolen cash from a parked vehicle on Friday night, which was initially investigated by Yarmouth Police Patrol Officer Michael Kramer.

Officers Nickinello and Dickey questioned the man who provided his name as John Winnell age 37, of 2 Hearth Lane, West Yarmouth, MA.   The man stated that his club membership had expired and subsequently admitted that he signed in at the guest register under the false name of Mike Bell.

Yarmouth Police Detective Russell Giammarco arrived at the scene and helped to determine that the man was in fact the same man caught on videotape stealing $280.00 cash from a wallet in a vehicle on Friday night.  The man was placed under arrest and transported to Yarmouth Police Headquarters.

He was scheduled for arraignment in the Barnstable District Court on Monday, April 9, 2007 on charges of Felony Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle and Felony Larceny Over $250.

This information was provided by Yarmouth Police Department Lieutenant Steven G. Xiarhos
