Marstons Mills: For the second time Sunday night (April 29, 2007), there has been an armed robbery in the town of Barnstable. The first occurred at the Cape Cod Chicken Restaurant in Centerville. (See Related Story)
At 8:48 PM the second armed robbery took place in the town. This time is was at Cash's Market on Route 149 in Marstons Mills near the intersection with Route 28.
This suspect was reported to be a young white male about 20 who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt or jacket. A short time later he was reported to be seen walking on River Road shortly after the initial holdup report,
HyannisNews talking to Sergeant Sean Sweeney at the scene of the robbery learned that the suspect in this second robbery is about 5'10" and was wearing a dark colored "hoodie" with an emblem on the front, a white T-Shirt underneath and sneakers. There were similarities between the descriptions of this robbery suspect and the suspect in the earlier robbery in Centerville, but it is unknown at this time if it was the same perpetrator.
Assisting Barnstable Police Patrol Officers and Detectives at the Cash's Market robbery scene are State Police and County Identification Officers from the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office.
As of 9:15 PM Police were still at the scene investigating.
