HYANNIS: Saturday night just before midnight a road rage incident suddenly escalated.
Police dispatched to the intersection of Dartmouth and Oak Neck Road were originally expecting to find a traffic accident, instead they found a scene where an S.U.V.’s front windshield had just been smashed in anger with a long-handled axe!
The occupants of the S.U.V. had followed the axe wielding man’s vehicle to a Dartmouth Street address after some type of traffic disturbance… instead of settling things like civilized motorists, the heated exchange led to one man taking aggressive measures.
.
The young women in the S.U.V were still very angry and verbal when Hyannis News arrived as they made various loud remarks regarding the group gathered in front of the Dartmouth Street address as being illegal aliens that should be deported.
.
K-9 Patrol Officer Troy Perry confiscated the long-handled axe as evidence. Sergeant Twomey was on scene and Identification Officer Jack Corbett took various photos.
According to Barnstable Police Sergeant Steve McGuire, Luiz DaRocha, age 36, was arrested for two felonies and transported back to Police Headquarters to be charged with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (an axe), as well as Injury to Real or Personal Property.
