Teen Victim of Hit and Run

UPDATE: 9:00 AM MONDAY - HyannisNews has learned that the victim in the accident is Michael Carapezza of West Dennis.  Charged in the accident is Paul Ellis also of Dennis.

 DENNIS – At approximately 10:40 PM Saturday evening, a 17 year old male was struck and seriously injured by a hit and run driver as he walked along Route 28 near Trotting Park Road. The victim was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital by Dennis Fire Rescue as a Med Flight was not available due to fog. It was reported to HyannisNews that the victim suffered severe head injuries.

Dennis Police are looking for full sized, light colored pickup truck with damage to the passenger side of the vehicle. The accident is being investigated by Dennis Patrol Officer Seth Richter. Accident reconstruction expert Kenneth Gelnett of Harwich Police Department is assisting with the investigation.
