HYANNIS - Thursday Afternoon at about 5:30 PM Barnstable Police responded to a serious car-truck crash at the intersection of High School Road and South Street. This is near Saint Francis Xavier Church.

The witnesses said there was literally no time for the dump truck to stop.

The impact spun the car around 180 degrees and it landed in the front yard of 323 South Street with its rear end up against the building. There was minor damage to the house with minor damage to a column for the front entryway.

Upon arrival, Barnstable Police reported that the driver was trapped in the car and unconscious. After she was removed from the vehicle she was transported to Cape Cod Hospital by Fire Rescue. The truck, although damaged was able to drive away. The car was removed on a flat bed wrecker by Buckler's towing.

South Street CrashIt is not known at this time whether charges will be filed. The accident remains under investigation by Barnstable Patrol Officer Brian Morrison.
