UPDATED: 4:30 PM

YARMOUTH - At about 12:30 PM - Just as one serious accident on White Path was clearing, Yarmouth Police and Fire Rescue were called to another crash near the other end of White's Path. This one was on Station Avenue. It was a a three vehicle crash involving a Red Ford F-250 Pickup Truck, an 18 Wheeler and a white Buick Regal sandwiched in between the two trucks.

HyannisNews arrived on the scene almost simultaneously with police and fire rescue. A Red Ford F-250 4X4 Pickup Truck had crashed into the rear of a white Buick Regal containing what appeared to be 3 passengers in that vehicle. The rear of the Buick was crushed to the rear window. The impact apparently forced the Buick into the rear of the Trailer of the 18 Wheel Semi Tractor Trailer Truck. The front of the Buick was also extensively damaged. It was uncertain if the traffic was moving slowly or stopped at the time of the crash.

Officials Question Driver - SittingAlready nearby, Yarmouth Fire Rescue was on the scene almost immediately and rescue personnel were quick to render aid to the injured persons. It was not immediately known to what the extent the victims were injured. It was not believed that anyone in the other vehicles was injured.

There did not appear to be any skid marks behind the tires of the Pickup Truck indicating there was no obvious attempt to stop. The driver of the Red Pickup Truck was given a field sobriety test by Officer Phil Magnuson at the scene. Officer Magnuson is the primary in the investigation.

He was assisted at the scene by Sergeant Gerard Britt, Patrol Officer James Cheverie, and other officers of the YPD. Several State Troopers also arrived to assist. Chief Carnes reported to the scene for a first hand look. Hyannis Fire Rescue sent an ambulance to the scene to assist in treating the injured parties.
