Car T-Bones Motorcycle - Multiple Injuries

SOUTH YARMOUTH - Just before 9:00 PM Yarmouth Police and Yarmouth Fire Rescue responded to the scene of a motorcycle versus car crash at the intersection of Sheridan Road and Highbank Road. Upon the arrival of HyannisNews the motorcycle was found tangled with the nose of the Lincoln Town Car  and both were extensively damaged. Gasoline was running from the motorcycle across the road and Yarmouth Fire Rescue covered the fluids with absorbent material to reduce the fire hazard,

According to bystanders at the scene, the motorcycle came out of Sheridan and the Lincoln which was traveling the the direction from High Bank Bridge toward North Main Street was unable to stop. The Lincoln and the motorcycle were tangled up with each other and the two vehicles came to rest about 100 feet in the direction of South Yarmouth Center from the intersection with Sheridan.

Accident Reconstruction Team at WorkThere was also damage to the drivers side windshield indicating that something or someone impacted the windshield at that point.

Highbank Road was completely closed to traffic for about 2 hours.The motorcycle and the Lincoln were removed from the scene by Mid-Cape Towing of South Yarmouth.

The accident is under investigation by Yarmouth Police including  Patrol Officer Kevin Antonovitch, Accident Reconstruction Team Investigators Gordon Gibbons and Kalil Boghdan were at the scene as was Patrol Officer Nicholas Pasquarosa.

The condition of the person on the motor cycle is not known at this time. HyannisNews will update when more information becomes available.
