Sequence of Bizarre Events

1.                   You think it’s easy to do the news?  Think again… Friday while taking footage of the Med Flight of a 2 year old, Hyannis News Editor Rob Bastille was assaulted by another photographer.  A freelance photographer not accustomed to competition attacked Bastille as he arrived just outside the airport gate.  Frank Paparo unleashed a barrage of profanity and threats, saying that he wanted to [fornicate] Hyannis News for getting in his way, along with many other belligerent words that we are unable to print.  Paparo also mentioned that he was a “Italian from Brooklyn NY” and that he was going to [fornicate] Bastille even if it was the last thing ever he did.  Paparo then went on to call airport security, stating that Bastille was a “punk” and that he had no business being there.  (Security did a brief check with police and discovered the contrary).  But Mr. Frank Paparo really crossed the line when his attack took on a very personal tone… to everyone’s surprise, Paparo made several very hurtful comments about Bastille’s only daughter!  Bastille called Barnstable Police and made a report of the incident.

.

BE ADVISED: Hyannis News will not tolerate threats of violence under any circumstances.

  1. Later Friday Evening Barnstable Police responded to a report of Naked Man lying in the road in front of Town Hall on South Street.  Officers arrived and quickly learned that the man was suicidal and in need of medical attention.  Officers managed to talk the distraught man into covering up with a police raincoat.  Hyannis Rescue responded and transported the man to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation.

  1. Friday Night- Officers on bike patrol discovered several young ladies climbing up on the roof of Sullivan’s and Puritan Clothing.  Officers needed to climb a fire escape up onto the roof and send the trespassers home.

-Friday Evening- A "hit and run" type accident left a vehicle without a rear wheel sitting in the middle of Route 28.  Nobody was injured!  But Route 28 needed to be closed down briefly between Pitcher's Way and Bearses Way.

  1. Saturday Night Barnstable Police investigated a report of a vehicle doing donuts on the playing field behind Pope John Paul II High School.  This is the second time this has occurred in recent months.  Officers discovered some damage and the incident remains under investigation by the Barnstable Police.

  1. Early Sunday Morning- Barnstable Police were breaking up a large block party in the area of Nautical Way and Murray when some fool threw a bottle which broke very close to a police cruiser.  A Sergeant called for additional cars and the party was shut down completely.

  1. Early Sunday Morning- A Jeep Cherokee driving along Route 28 flew through a guard rail and landed on its side in a gully at the intersection of Tanglewood Drive.  Nobody was hurt!  But the tearful operator of the vehicle was arrested for drunk driving…  Firefighters needed to cut down small trees in order to remove the vehicle.

  • LMFAO! Bob, don't let this Paparo freak bother you. We all know that he lies and flies off the handle. He has even been known to make false police reports. He's a loser we all just have to put up with. Which is a shame because he's always in the way and causing problems. You should look into the real story behind why he moved to Centerville. Ask me about it the next time you see me. J

  • A while back I covering a minor fender bender when I turned aroung and saw Paparo standing in the middle of the intersection like a dope. All of sudden a gust of wind kicked up and his wig flew off! I it flew past another Officer and he almost shot it after jumping about 8 feet in the air. I almost wrote him a citation for a LEASH LAW violation.

  • Bob - Everyone knows that FRANK PAPARO is the biggest NUT in town. You are not the first person he has assaulted and we are well aware of his rants. Mr. Paparo often comes very close to saying things that can land him in jail. He's also lucky that he is a senior citizen because that has saved him from getting a beating and/ or locked up. He has told me stories about Brooklyn, but I know from others that know him that he had to leave the city to keep himself from getting a pounding. Prediction: FRANK PAPARO will "get his" in the near future.
