Sequence of Bizarre Events
1. You think it’s easy to do the news? Think again… Friday while taking footage of the Med Flight of a 2 year old, Hyannis News Editor Rob Bastille was assaulted by another photographer. A freelance photographer not accustomed to competition attacked Bastille as he arrived just outside the airport gate. Frank Paparo unleashed a barrage of profanity and threats, saying that he wanted to [fornicate] Hyannis News for getting in his way, along with many other belligerent words that we are unable to print. Paparo also mentioned that he was a “Italian from Brooklyn NY” and that he was going to [fornicate] Bastille even if it was the last thing ever he did. Paparo then went on to call airport security, stating that Bastille was a “punk” and that he had no business being there. (Security did a brief check with police and discovered the contrary). But Mr. Frank Paparo really crossed the line when his attack took on a very personal tone… to everyone’s surprise, Paparo made several very hurtful comments about Bastille’s only daughter! Bastille called Barnstable Police and made a report of the incident.

BE ADVISED: Hyannis News will not tolerate threats of violence under any circumstances.

- Saturday Night Barnstable Police investigated a report of a vehicle doing donuts on the playing field behind Pope John Paul II High School. This is the second time this has occurred in recent months. Officers discovered some damage and the incident remains under investigation by the Barnstable Police.
- Early Sunday Morning- Barnstable Police were breaking up a large block party in the area of Nautical Way and Murray when some fool threw a bottle which broke very close to a police cruiser. A Sergeant called for additional cars and the party was shut down completely.
- Early Sunday Morning- A Jeep Cherokee driving along Route 28 flew through a guard rail and landed on its side in a gully at the intersection of Tanglewood Drive. Nobody was hurt!
