Police Arrest Man for Threats to Kill

YARMOUTH - On Monday, July 16, 2007 at 5:45 PM a citizen came to Yarmouth Police Headquarters reporting threats being made to kill the citizen and his daughter.

Yarmouth Police Patrol Officer Cheryl Nugent Gomsey met with the citizen who further advised that the threats were recorded on an answering machine.  The threats reportedly involved a failed business adventure and specifically mentioned obtaining a gun and shooting the citizen and child. 

Patrol Officer Nugent Gomsey listened to the tape recorded threats and subsequently obtained a warrant from a Barnstable Court Clerk Magistrate for the arrest of the suspect.

At approximately 8:00 PM—Yarmouth Police Patrol Officers Kevin Antonovitch and Bradley Donahue and K9 Patrol Officer Peter McClelland and his dog Kobi assisted Patrol Officer Nugent Gomsey in serving the arrest warrant at the suspect’s home in West Yarmouth. 

The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the Barnstable District Court this morning for arraignment and evaluation.

Arrested as James D. Robertson, Age 47 of Cottage #1 52 South Sea Avenue, West Yarmouth, MA.

He is charged with Two Counts of Threat to Commit Murder.
