He Could Run But Could Not Hide from the YPD

YARMOUTH - On Friday, July 13, 2007 at 2:00 PM—the mother of a West Yarmouth man came to Yarmouth Police Headquarters to report that her son—who was wanted on an outstanding default warrant—was at her residence and that she was concerned for her safety.  

Yarmouth Police Officers subsequently went to the residence but could not locate the suspect inside the residence.  A few minutes later—police officers spotted the suspect hiding behind a nearby residence but he ran off into a heavily wooded area adjacent to Swan Pond in West Yarmouth. 

Despite a search by members of the Yarmouth Police Department with assistance from the Yarmouth Department of Natural Resources and a Yarmouth Police K9 Unit—the suspect was not located. 

Tuesday at 10:00—Yarmouth Police Patrol Officers Christopher Kent—Richard Fichter—Christopher Van Ness—and Patrol Sergeant Michael Bryant made a police initiated follow-up visit to the same residence and—after receiving consent from a parent—searched the home and located the suspect in the basement.

Police Arrested Sean K. Garcia, Age 26 of 92 Clearbrook Road, West Yarmouth, MA He was arrested on  a Default Warrant from the Barnstable District Court for Violation of Probation for Illegal Drugs, Violation of a Protective Order, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.

The suspect was transported to Yarmouth Police Headquarters and then transferred to the Barnstable District Court for arraignment.
