SOUTH YARMOUTH - On Friday, July 20, 2007 at 7:40 AM—the Yarmouth Police Department responded to the parking lot area of the Grand Union Supermarket on Station Avenue in response to a fight involving people armed with weapons including knives and a baseball bat.
Yarmouth Police Patrol Officers David Schneeweis—Paul Mellett—Michael Kramer—Mark Noone—Christopher Marino—and Patrol Sergeant Thomas Hennessey—with back up support from Massachusetts State Police Sergeant Lawrence Garbacik and Trooper Michael Burgess—converged on the scene and encountered four subjects, three men and a women.
All subjects were secured and the on-scene investigation indicated that all of the subjects involved began arguing at the nearby Habit Management clinic on Forsythe Avenue over a former dating relationship. The argument continued from the clinic to the adjacent Dunkin Donuts and finally to the front parking area of the CVS pharmacy. In the pharmacy parking lot—two men attacked the third by repeatedly striking him in the head with a ¾ inch steel “breaker bar” socket wrench and repeatedly kicking and dragging him.
The victim was treated by members of the Yarmouth Fire Department and transported to Cape Cod Hospital suffering from non-life threatening injuries.
The assailants were identified at the scene and placed under arrest.
Arrested were Jeremy K Eardley - Age 26, of 27 Hickory Lane, Dennis, MA. He is charged with Felony Assault and Battery with a dangerous weapon being a steel wrench and Felony Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon being a shod foot.
Also Arrested was Shaun P. Stout - Age 31, of 31 Open Field Road, in Dennis, MA. He is charged with Felony Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon being a shod foot and Accessory after the Fact.
The arrested persons were transported to Yarmouth Police Headquarters and subsequently to The Barnstable District Court for arraignment.
