OSTERVILLE - At about 7:30 PM Sunday evening, a sharp eyed Barnstable Patrol Officer spotted a juvenile suspect in an auto theft earlier today in Dennis. That car crashed in the 400 Block of Shootflying Hill Road. (See Earlier Story) http://hyannisnews.com/Hyannis-City-News/stolen_car_crash_07222007.html

This evening a Barnstable Patrol Officer spotted the suspect near Route 28 and Tanglewood Drive and gave chase on foot, but the suspect had a good lead on the officer and eluded capture. This started an extensive search of the area that was still ongoing at nearly 10:00 PM. The suspect is described as 6'1 wearing a gray Tee Shirt and Blue Jeans type shorts.

Several Barnstable cruisers, State Police cruisers, Barnstable K-9 Officer Troy Perry and his partner Ali who tracked the suspect for a considerable distance from the scene and a unit from the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing participated in the search.  Barnstable Police are continuing to search for the suspect.

HyannisNews was asked not to reveal the suspects name because he is a juvenile.  HyannisNews will update when more information becomes available.
