HYANNIS- Monday- At approximately 5:45pm Barnstable Police Sergeant Andy McKenna was flagged down in the Main Street area by an off-duty Boston Police Officer who stated he had just been assaulted.  Apparently the victim had just been out walking when he was approached by a local "homeless" youth and punched.

Sergeant McKenna put out a description of the suspect and within minutes officers had two in custody in front of the transportation center.

According to sources at the scene, both subjects in the photographs were taken into protective custody.  One of the subjects may be eventually charged with Assault and Battery for punching the off-duty Boston Police Officer in the face. Apparently the victim has yet to decide on whether or not to take out his own charges.
