Initial HN coverage:

MARSTONS MILLS – [DEVELOPING – Details will be updated] – A 36-year-old woman reportedly had part of her face amputated during a dog bite. The gruesome bite mayhem was described as being from the lower lip down, including part of the mandible, according to various sources…

Some time before 2:00PM, Barnstable Police and COMM Rescue rushed to 44 Waters Edge for a serious dog bite, where the reporting party was described as being hysterical…

An ambulance crew requested a Medflight to a local landing zone, but opted at the last minute to rush the patient over the bridge to [Beth Israel Hospital in Plymouth], where she was reportedly airlifted to a Boston area trauma center (said to be Mass General Hospital, according to a second source…) with injuries described as life-threatening, according to sources… NOTE: This information has not yet been officially released…

As you will see in the following RAW footage, HN arrived at 44 Waters Edge just as a Barnstable Animal Control Officer was struggling to lift the dog up into her van.

The dog was described as a bulldog in radio transmissions. A neighbor mentioned that the family had recently moved into the neighborhood and the dog was usually friendly when the owner was around. The neighbor believed the dog was some sort of “pit bull” mix… she also mentioned the dog was very protective of the home when the owners were not around. There may have been two smaller dogs also inside of the home… [Developing]

The following footage shows the dog and the scene… Check back for updates…

I dont think were getting the whole story yet. The dog seemed very at ease even though it was being held by a choke pole. I’m thinking the dog may have been provoked in some way for it to act the way they are saying it acted ?

I agree with you 100%. I am not taking anything away from this woman’s horrific injuries by any means. But a dog doesn’t just bite a persons face for no reason

The male’s in this video didn’t offer any assistance……….hmmmm.

I don’t think we are getting the whole story either. “Amputate” implies a medical procedure. It’s more likely the animal was chwing this persons’ face off.
