Assad and Saladino initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Route 28 and Yarmouth Road…
Additional SCU members responded to provide backup…
The driver of the suspected stolen vehicle was detained in handcuffs while officers investigated and awaited confirmation on the vehicle’s current status. According to radio transmissions the driver told officers he had been stopped earlier in the day and was sent on his way…
While awaiting confirmation out of Worcester, police learned the driver had a violent and relatively lengthy criminal history, with charges for illegal possession of a firearm, armed assault, and other drug related offenses…
After about ten minutes officers learned the vehicle was still, in fact, listed as stolen…
According to Barnstable Police Sergeant David Myette, Clinton Travares, age 34, of Randolph, was transported back to Barnstable Police Headquarters where he was booked on the felony charge of Receiving Stolen Property (Over $250)…
