WEST BARNSTABLE – As you will see in the following video, an All Cape Security Patrol Officer (a private security company that services the Cape… CapeCodSecurity.com ) had a bad feeling when he was being tailgated by an aggressive erratic driver in a full size pickup truck last evening at about 6:40PM.
The ACS Patrol Officer was in the right travel lane driving westbound on Route 6 in the area of Exit 5, when the aggressive driver passed and drove up to the rear of a sedan also traveling in the passing lane, flashing its headlights…
The driver of the sedan immediately pulled to the right to let the pickup truck pass…
… but the pickup truck slowly continued into the sedan’s right travel lane, running the sedan off the road, causing it to lose control before crashing into the woods!
The driver of the pickup then apparently sped up, essentially fleeing the accident that was left in his/her wake.
The ACS Patrol Officer was already on the phone with state police when he did his best to capture an image of the fleeing truck’s license plate.
He managed to get a partial plate number and the state police are looking into other highway investigative resources…
The driver of the sedan was evaluated by West Barnstable Rescue and refused further treatment, not needing to be transported to CCH.
One source mentioned the victim was driving a brand new car that needed to be towed from the scene.
Drop a dime on this chump: ANYONE with ANY information of the possible identity of the truck driver is urged to contact the Massachusetts State Police barracks in South Yarmouth at 508-398-2323. Please help keep our roadways safe by reporting reckless aggressive drivers.
HN NOTE: Fairly decent HD dashcams can be found online for about $100. HN uses the Transcend brand and has had good results, but there are many other options out there. They’re a great investment… a dashcam doesn’t lie and could be the difference between a settlement or a traffic ticket in some cases, especially when other drivers are not being entirely forthcoming and honest…
In the meantime, please BE SAFE and have an especially splediferous Monday! 🙂
