STABBING: Police investigating what led up to a man receiving a puncture wound to his chest… [VIDEO]

HYANNIS – Barnstable Police are trying to piece together what led up to a man saying he had arrived home with a stab wound to his upper chest.  Police were called approximately 6 hours after the stabbing was said to have occurred…

At about 11:55PM last evening, Barnstable and state police patrol cars responded to 85 Lewis Street to investigate a stabbing.

As you will hear in the following video, the woman who called police said her boyfriend would not tell her who stabbed him.

Hyannis Rescue staged nearby as police officers determined whether the scene was safe for them to respond…

According to a source, officers were told the stabbing actually occurred hours earlier in the evening. The victim told police he was involved in a fight with another man in a parking lot outside a bar in the North Street area sometime between 6:30PM and 7:00PM. The victim then reportedly returned to the 85 Lewis Street address, where the man’s girlfriend eventually dialed 911 hours after the fact…

The puncture wound was not deep enough to be life-threatening, but reportedly required stitches…

The victim was transported to CCH as police officers searched the North Street parking area for clues and indications which would help them understand what had actually occurred.

The victim allegedly was not able to name his attacker, but as you will hear in the video, he was able to provide a description…

The investigation is active and ongoing…
