STOLEN CHEVY MALIBU: Three Cape women arrested during afternoon traffic stop…

 

HYANNIS – An alert Barnstable Patrolman ran a license plate and something didn’t add up.

At about 2:00PM, Patrolman Kyle Phelan was in the area Route 6A in Barnstable when he radioed dispatch that he was following a possible stolen vehicle.

Officer Phelan stopped the blue Chevy Malibu on Phinney’s Lane near the intersection with Attucks Lane. Other Barnstable Patrol units also arrived on scene to assist.

After a brief investigation, officers were able to officially confirm the vehicle stolen.

The driver and two passengers were taken into custody.

Samantha Morris, age 26, of Mashpee was charged with Receiving Stolen Property Over $250, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and Possession of a Class B Substance.

Junelle Jones-Saunders, age 23, of Sandwich, was charged with Receiving Stolen Property Over $250.

Stephanie Cordeiro, age 30, of Hyannis, was also charged with Receiving Stolen Property…

The stolen Chevy Malibu was towed back to Barnstable Police Headquarters.

No further information was available at the time of this report. Barnstable Police are investigating.
