HYANNIS – The suspect in last Thursday’s stabbing which sent a 44-year-old man to CCH with three stab wounds was discovered at a General Patton Drive address this morning.
Last Thursday, 2/16/2017, at about 8:22PM, Barnstable Patrol Units were dispatched to the Cape Cod Hospital Emergency Room triage area after the victim showed up with stab wounds.
Police eventually learned the man had been stabbed while seated inside a truck in the area of Steve & Sues Ice Cream on West Main Street. CLICK HERE to read more details about that evening.
Officers working the case were looking for the suspect who had managed to allude capture all last week.
This morning they found their man after four patrol officers descended on the Hyannis residence.
Keith Newell, age 27, of Hyannis was arrested without incident on a warrant issued out of Barnstable District Court. The warrant was for Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (to wit a knife) and Armed Assault with Intent to Rob. Newell was transported to Barnstable District Court for his arraignment, where prosecutors are seeking significant bail, according to sources…
Newell’s girlfriend was also discovered inside the General Patton Drive address.
Olivia Ryan, age 25, of Mashpee was arrested on two separate warrants out of Barnstable District Court. Her warrants had nothing to with the stabbing case. The first warrant was for Failure to Return Lease Property. The second warrant was for one count of Larceny by check, over $250.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court of law.
