FALMOUTH – One suspect is in custody as an Accessory Before and After the Fact, but police are still searching for the prime suspect who walked into Walmart and snatched a purse from an elderly woman’s shopping cart.
Yesterday, Tuesday 12/6/2016, Falmouth Police arrested one of two suspects involved in a theft of a purse containing several hundred dollars in cash and gift cards from an elderly woman’s shopping cart.
As you will see in the following surveillance video, both suspects, a woman and a man, entered Walmart together. One suspect noticed, doubled back, and stole the elderly woman’s purse from her shopping basket.
Police were called to Walmart on November 27 for the theft. During the investigation they obtained security camera footage of a female with a male companion stealing a purse from the cart of an elderly shopper. The police then posted the video on Facebook and within days identified the female and male suspected of the theft.
As a result, police have arrested John F. Hayes, age 31, of Sandwich for an arrest warrant charging him with Larceny over $250 from a 60 or older/Disabled Person, Accessory Before the Fact, and Accessory After the Fact.
Police are asking the public for help in locating the second suspect, Danielle Rae Romaneski, age 29 of Sandwich. She is wanted for Larceny over $250 from a 60 or older/Disabled Person. Falmouth Police can be reached at 774-255-4527.
