RESCUE VIDEO: Sick cargo ship crew member airlifted from windy Atlantic to Hyannis…

ATLANTIC OCEAN – At about 9:00AM yesterday morning, a MH-60 United States Coast Guard helicopter crew responded 45 miles southeast of Nantucket after receiving reports of a sick crew member aboard a cargo ship.

The doctor of the Liberty Passion informed Coast Guard responders that a crew member was suffering abdominal pains and needed to be taken to hospital.

In the following video you’ll hear Coast Guard responders as their helicopter hovers above the deck of the car carrier ship.

The patient was successfully hoisted up into the helicopter and then transported to Barnstable Municipal Airport in Hyannis. An awaiting ambulance then transported the patient the remainder of the way to the emergency room at CCH.

The following Coast Guard video highlights the hazardous airlift. The wind was reportedly “fierce” and at one point in the video you’ll an automated alert warn the pilot about his altitude…
