HN NOTE: The following story out of Sandwich has gone worldwide… other online sources are reporting the victim was an off-duty cop.
SANDWICH – Susan Kettell, age 39, of Sandwich was charged with several felonies after allegedly waving a dagger while topless during what is being described as a “road rage incident,” according to a Sandwich Police statement.
Saturday July 22 at 12:20 PM, the Sandwich cops received a call about a blue Ford Explorer driving erratically.
The Explorer reportedly attempted to crash into the caller’s vehicle, according to the SPD statement.
The driver of the Explorer then allegedly began waving a double edged dagger out her window while behind the caller at a traffic light.
The caller drove away when the driver reportedly exited her vehicle, removed her clothing, and ran bare chested toward caller’s vehicle flailing the dagger.
According to the report, Sandwich police responded and located the Explorer. The operator, identified as Susan Kettell was allegedly intoxicated. Officers located the dagger inside the Explorer. A male passenger, also a Sandwich resident, was also allegedly intoxicated and placed in Protective Custody.
As a result, Kettell was placed under arrest and charged with OUI 2nd Offense, Operating on a Revoked Driver’s License, Three counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon to wit Double Edged Knife, Lewd and Lascivious Conduct, and several other motor vehicle violations.
The incident is being investigated by Officer Ryan McCracken.
