UPDATED: Hyannis cabbie called saying he was just stabbed in the chest… suspect in custody…
HYANNIS – [DEVELOPING] – An injured cab driver was transported 3 blocks away to Cape Cod Hospital after calling police saying he had just been stabbed in the chest.
At about 7:30 p.m., police and firefighters rushed to the area of 48 Camp Street where the victim was placed in an ambulance and transported in unknown condition.
A Barnstable Patrolwoman arrived and immediately announced she had a likely suspect in custody.
As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, the male suspect was handcuffed, placed in the back of a cruiser and transported back to BPD Headquarters. According radio traffic, the suspect is being charged with A&B with a Dangerous Weapon.

Hyannis taxi driver stabbed during confrontation.
The Barnstable Police Department received a call at 7:30 p.m. from a local taxi driver who stated he had been stabbed on Camp St. in Hyannis.
Responding units located the victim along with a suspect who was leaving the area as police arrived. The taxi driver sustained what appeared to be knife wounds to the upper torso. The suspect, a 19-year-old Bourne man, was taken into custody at the scene.
This incident remains under investigation.

Update: June 18, 2019
Further investigation revealed a 47-year-old Town Taxi driver was picking up a fare on Camp St. shortly before 7:30 p.m. last evening.
During the pick-up, the taxi driver became involved in an argument with the customer and refused to take him to his destination.
As the taxi driver backed out of the parking lot, the male suspect stabbed him through the open driver’s window of the car, striking him in the chest and arm.
The suspect taken into custody at the scene, falsely identified himself as an adult, and it has since been determined he is a juvenile.
The taxi driver was transported to Cape Cod Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released.
