Car crash with injuries closes 28… [Video plus other stories]
Centerville – Both drivers needed to be transported to Cape Cod Hospital after a serious two car collision at the intersection of Route 28 and Ames Way.
Just before 2:30pm, Barnstable Police and COMM Fire and Rescue responded to the scene which closed down Route 28 for three quarters of an hour…
The injuries were said to be serious but non-life-threatening.
Police closed Route 28 at Old Stage Road and at Five Corners Road.

Commuters patiently waited while traffic was backed up in both directions…

Hyannis – At 3:15pm, traffic was delayed on Route 28 once again while police and Hyannis Fire and Rescue cleaned up after an accident in front of the Senior Center.

One driver was evaluated and transported to CCH with non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic was slowed and reduced to one lane of travel for just over half an hour.
In other news:
Hyannis – Just after 1pm, about 9 police units rapidly responded to the rear of an address on Bearses Way for a Breaking & Entering in progress.

A resident was on the line with police reporting that two young women were kicking in her back door.
The women, who were dropped off in the area by Town Taxi, turned out to be the resident's unwelcomed daughter and her friend...
A crime scene photographer was summoned.
Police did not arrest the two females this time, instead opting to 'trespass' them from the property...
In other news:
Just after 2:15pm, Hyannis Fire and police responded to an address on Goatfield Road for a fire...

Firefighters immediately focused on the chimney and removed burning wood from the fire place.

Everybody was reportedly out of the residence and there were no reported injuries.
The fire did not spread beyond the chimney area and residents were able to reenter the home.
