Young man suffers compound leg fracture and skull trauma after struck by vehicle in Dennis Port… [HN VIDEO]
DENNIS PORT – A pedestrian was badly hurt after being struck by a motor vehicle on Upper County Road last evening, shortly before 11:00 p.m.
As you will hear in the following HN Video, the male patient was described as being approximately 18 to 22 years of age… and the first police officers on scene described his injuries as a compound fracture to the left leg, with a possible skull fracture.
The patient was taken to Cape Cod Hospital after it was learned MedFlight helicopters were not flying due to adverse weather conditions.
NOTE: As you will hear in the following HN Video, emergency radio transmissions initially described the patient was being a “bicyclist,” but after speaking with first responders on scene, HN learned the patient was actually a pedestrian pushing a shopping cart.
The Dennis Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
