HN VIDEO REPORT: RUNNING LIST OF CAPE COD SCHOOL CLOSINGS…

The following list of school closing will updated upon official notification. School officials may update this list and add updated announcements by emailing HN at rjbastille@yahoo.com.

Barnstable Public Schools: “Beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 all Barnstable Public Schools, including the Family and Community Engagement Center located at HYCC, and all school grounds, will be closed for a minimum period of two weeks. Given the fluidity of the situation and the ever-changing circumstances we are facing, we will regularly reassess the viability of reopening. Any extension of the closure beyond March 30, 2020 will be communicated to our BPS community as soon as the decision is made.”

Mashpee Public Schools: All Mashpee Public Schools will be closed for a minimum of two weeks between March 16 and March 30, 2020.
Sandwich Public Schools: Per an announcement of Facebook, Sandwich Public Schools “will be closed from Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27th. Over the next two weeks, we will reassess to determine if a longer closure is needed.”

Falmouth Public Schools: “The Falmouth Public Schools will close on Friday, March 13, 2020 and remain so for two weeks with an expectation to reopen on Monday, March 30, 2020. While closed, all school activities are canceled. As we near the end of the expected closure, the district will assess the need to extend it. The purpose of this closure is to allow for the preventative action of social distancing. All students and staff are strongly encouraged to remain home and avoid unnecessary travel.”

Upper Cape Regional Technical School: “As part of a regional risk-mitigation strategy we have made the decision to close Upper Cape Tech for at least two weeks starting Monday, March 16th, through Friday, March 27th. This closure includes all student activities. Five school days will be made up, in the same manner as snow days, in late June. However, make-up days will not exceed our 185th day of school. Our last day of school will fall on June 23, 2020.”

Dennis-Yarmouth Public Schools: “All Dennis-Yarmouth schools, day care and extended day activities will be cancelled for the week of March 16-March 20. Please stay tuned for updates later in the week.”

Bourne Public Schools will be closed March 16-March 27, 2020.
