HN PHOTOS: Biker banged up after laying Harley down to avoid collision…

HYANNIS – Barnstable Police are investigating a crash where a motorcyclist had to quickly lay down his bike to avoid t-boning another vehicle this afternoon. His quick actions averted a collision with the other vehicle, but his body ended up taking the brunt of the damage…
The biker was sitting on a stretcher, alert and conscious when HN arrived on scene. He was apparently suffering abrasions, cuts and bruises – and possibly other injuries – but did manage to wave goodbye to a concerned woman on scene as he was being hoisted up into the back of a Hyannis Rescue ambulance.
The accident occurred on Bearses Way near the intersection with Route 132.
Also of note: when the biker hit the pavement his motorcyclist continued to travel the better part of a block before crashing into a curb. The bike was damaged, but things could have been much worse all around…
