Overdose victim left Fentanyl on baby diaper changing table…
HYANNIS – Sources tell HN that a 30-year-old male overdose victim in the back of an ambulance reportedly told a police officer he left his Fentanyl on a bathroom diaper changing table…
… the officer immediately went back into the Cumberland Farms restroom to remove and secure the dangerous drugs so nobody’s baby would fall victim to a potentially lethal contact overdose.
At about 8:24PM, Barnstable Police and Hyannis Rescue responded and revived the patient who was found inside of the male restroom at the Cumberland Farms convenience store on West Main Street.
HN went in shortly afterwards and spoke with the store clerk who discovered the overdose victim, saving his life by calling the police. A female clerk suspected something was wrong when the man came in from the gas pumps and went straight for the bathroom. She alerted her male coworker who checked and found the male overdosing inside of a locked bathroom stall…
The patient was transported to the Cape Cod Hospital ambulance tunnel where rescue workers called for police assistance when the patient became uncooperative…
HN inspected the baby diaper changing table after one of store clerks assured it had been thoroughly cleaned… the changing station appeared completely spick-and-span, as though it had been recently cleaned off and sanitized…
The following video briefly highlights the scene at Cumbys…
