HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [INITIAL HN NOTES & VIDEO] – All official updates for this case will be coming from the District Attorney’s Office, according to sources at the scene. At around 7:23 p.m. last evening (Wednesday), Barnstable Police patrol officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on Route 28, near the entrance to the Cape Cod Mall.
The first officers on scene found a man, described as being in his thirties, suffering a life-threatening stab wound to his chest, according to radio transmissions and sources.
As you will hear in the following HN Video, a woman was quickly taken into custody after she was reportedly seen “running” from the scene. She was eventually transported to BPD headquarters after an arrest number was requested, according to radio transmissions. It’s unknown what she’s being charged with.
At one point, Cape Cod Hospital was placed on a trauma alert after the stabbing victim was reportedly unresponsive. [Check back for official details…]
Barnstable Police patrol officers and detectives secured the scene with crime scene tape, cruisers, and traffic cones. A canopy was erected over one of the vehicles. Route 28 near the entrance to the Cape Cod Mall needed to be completely shut down until around midnight.
Police and detectives also responded to a second location, a residence on Great Marsh Road near the intersection with Shootflying Hill Road in Centerville. Crime scene tape was used to secure that second location while investigators shared notes.

“CENTERVILLE WOMAN ARRESTED FOR MURDER…”
Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert J. Galibois today announced that Juscelene Guedes, 29 years old, of Centerville, has been arrested for her role relating to the June 26, 2024, murder of a 33-year-old male in the town of Barnstable.
On June 26, 2024, at approximately 7:19pm, Barnstable Police received a 911 reporting a crash in the area of TD Bank, 226 Falmouth Rd Route 28 in Hyannis. One of the occupants had an apparent stab wound to his chest. The victim was transported to CCH in critical condition. At 8:36pm, the victim was determined no longer viable for resuscitation. A female passenger in the same vehicle of the victim, Juscelene Guedes, was arrested and charged with Murder and Assault and Battery with a dangerous weapon, to wit: knife.
Ms. Guedes will be arraigned this morning in the Barnstable District Court. District Attorney Galibois acknowledges the investigative work conducted by the Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office and the Barnstable Police Department. Second Assistant District Attorney Tara Cappola will prosecute the case.
The Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office reiterates that all defendants are presumed innocent.
