40-year-old male charged with OUI Drugs after crashing in front of Bass River Car Wash…
SOUTH YARMOUTH – At about 8:15 p.m. last evening, Yarmouth Patrol Officers responded to Old Main Street in front of the Bass River Car Wash for a single car motor vehicle crash. According to a Yarmouth Police source, a 40-year-old male was arrested on scene and charged with Operating Under the Influence of Drugs, along with Operating to Endanger.
As you will hear in the following HN Video which contains Yarmouth FD radio soundbites, firefighters indicated that the driver may have initially tried fleeing the scene and then, moments later, that police officers appeared to be wrestling with the driver on the ground in front of the A to Z Convenience store, which is located across the street from the car wash.
The suspect was arrested and transported to Yarmouth Police Headquarters. Yarmouth Rescue then responded to the Yarmouth Police lockup to evaluate the suspect for possible injuries related to the crash.
