WEST YARMOUTH – Firefighters responded to 86 Wimbledon Drive at about 9:30 p.m. this evening for what was initially called a “basement fire.” The fire was in the rear of the residence (reportedly near to an electric meter).
Firefighters announced the fire had been knocked down as additional firefighters from Hyannis were still en route to the scene.
Firefighters had to contend with stiff winds and heavy rain while battling the fire.
No further details were available at the time of this report.
