51-Year-Old Arrested on Child Pornography Charges Following Joint Operation by Barnstable Police and Secret Service
HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – According to today’s BPD media statement, on August 7, 2025, the Barnstable Police Department, in collaboration with the United States Secret Service Cyber Fraud Task Force, executed a search warrant at a Hyannis residence, leading to the arrest of 51-year-old Cristian Martinez-Peraza on charges of Possession of Child Pornography.
The operation stemmed from a CyberTip received by the Massachusetts State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which was assigned to a Barnstable Police task force officer. The tip indicated that a device at Martinez-Peraza’s residence likely contained child sexual abuse material (CSAM). During the search, investigators discovered at least one digital device containing images and videos of child pornography, resulting in Martinez-Peraza’s immediate arrest.
Following his arrest, Martinez-Peraza was booked at the Barnstable Police Department and arraigned at Barnstable District Court on August 8, 2025. A subsequent forensic analysis conducted by the Secret Service’s New England Cyber Fraud Task Force uncovered additional CSAM files on devices seized from the residence. Martinez-Peraza is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on September 29, 2025, as the investigation continues.
