Arm Out the Window: Woman in Mental Health Crisis Films Falmouth Cops During High-Speed Pursuit [Raw Audio]
FALMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS — A woman in the middle of a mental health crisis called police to report a breaking-and-entering in progress… then jumped into her gray GMC pickup and led officers on a high-speed chase.
In this raw audio, hear Falmouth Police radio transmissions as officers try to stop the truck, pursue it at moderate speeds through town toward the highway, and learn the driver is the same woman who made the original 911 call. Family members say she was suffering a mental health episode. The pursuit was called off after the pickup hit 100 MPH on Route 28 north. Massachusetts State Police attempted to deploy a tire deflation device near the Otis Rotary before officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop in Bourne.
The woman was taken into custody without further incident and transported to Falmouth Hospital for a mental health evaluation. Her vehicle was towed from the highway. It’s still unclear whether Falmouth Police will seek criminal charges related to the pursuit.
The following police radio audio captures every tense moment of the chase.
