*** AUDIO *** POLICE INVESTIGATING “GUNSHOTS” AT HYANNIS CONDO COMPLEX
HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN “VIDEO” NOTES – DEVELOPING] – As you will hear in the following HN “video,” and according to civilian sources, the Barnstable Police Department appears to be investigating a number of gunshots fired from outside of the Cape Crossroads Condominiums at 800 Bearses Way, near an entrance to the complex. A number of Barnstable PD squad cars began responding after multiple calls reporting what sounded like “gunshots,” sometime around 8:30 p.m. or earlier. Numerous yellow evidence markers were observed on the ground near a parking area, possibly marking shell casings. As you will hear, a silver BMW SUV was reportedly witnessed traveling from the scene, south on Bearses Way, toward Route 28. The BMW may have been somehow involved, according to radio transmissions. Officers eventually caught up to a silver BMW SUV traveling west on Route 28, conducting a traffic stop near the Barnstable/Mashpee town line, according to radio transmissions. The driver was reportedly detained. No further information on whether or not the detained driver was arrested during the investigation…
Officers then responded to an address on Marigold Road in West Yarmouth, where the investigation appears to have continued. A vehicle was eventually towed from the Marigold Road address back to BPD Headquarters, according to radio transmissions.
HN heard about the Cape Crossroads caper late into last evening’s investigation. According to a police source, investigators are working on a media statement and HN will update this report as soon as official details become available.
